Top Holidays Destinations With Children

Holidays are near, sea or mountain? This is the most common question among all #TheNowFamily. That’s why we give you a list of 4 places next to the sea and 4 of mountain, all of them uncommon that surely you will like. And, if the wallet allows it, you could also try to do a week in the mountains and another in the sea in order to put everyone in agreement :D



Molveno, Italy

A good combination between sea and mountains, because although it is immersed in the summits of Trentino Alto Adige (South Tyrol), Molveno offers the possibility of making a mountain holiday without giving up the water thanks to its lake comfort and the entertainment of spas.

Children, even the smallest ones, are having fun in several sand areas with slides and games, including one with a huge irresistible wooden galleon: impossible not to slide the pulley or climb the ropes and turn the rudder for adventures of the Real pirates!


For the whole family there is also the swimming center, with slides for small children and the Olympic pool for the elderly, also equipped with inflatable floats. However, family activities do not end here, in fact, it can be done from horseback riding, hunting a treasure of the super miniclub down the lake, renting boats and rowing boats, even mountain hiking trails.


Sherwood Forest, UK.

Sometimes, there really are fairytale places. This is the case of the Robin Hood Forest, which attracts more and more visitors from all over the world.

It is located in the heart of England, near Nottingham, and consists mostly of oaks (mostly Quercia), which according to legend was the refuge of the noble bandit. It is said that this tree is between 800 and a thousand years old and, since the time of Queen Victoria, its branches are supported by a complex scaffolding system. In the forest you can also admire numerous species of animals and practice hiking, cycling, and also horseback riding.


Edinburgh, Scotland

Rich in art and culture, the capital of Scotland, is a city that lends itself to a visit with children. In fact, it has the Harry Potter symbols, such as Elephant House, Children’s Museum and Mary King’s Close, where you can see the underground city, but only for children ages 5 and up. If time allows then, at 300km distance is the Ness Lake: an unforgettable adventure for your children.



Bled and Bohinj, Slovenia

The calm of the lake between  the mountains combined with an endowment of services such as water parks and activities for adults and children. That allows you to enjoy an active and relaxed holiday as you want.


Oh, do not forget the Minirafting rivers suitable for the whole family, or the bike tours and nature walks.

Somewhere beyond the SEA…


Algarve, Portugal

In the southernmost part of Portugal, this region is considered one of the most suitable for family trips, as it is rich in beauty and natural attractions dedicated to children, as well as having a temperate climate throughout the year. And the fun is not limited to the magnificent beaches where you can play with the sand and bathe in the sea, there is also the possibility of practicing many sports and participate in various types of excursions.


From Lagos, Portimão or Alvor you can organize boat trips to go to see the dolphins, while from the capital, you can start expeditions to observe closely the beauty of the Ria Formosa Natural Park. Those who suffer from sea sickness can go to Guia, near Albufeira, to Zoomarine, a fun oceanographic park, as well as educational, where you can see dolphins, seals, sharks and many other water attractions.


Golden Sands, Bulgaria

The Bulgarian Black Sea coast has become a popular destination in the last decade suitable for families as it is a low cost destination.

With its long sandy bays, a sea easy to swim because it is shallow. Near Varna, Golden Sands is a kind of large complex that has a large beach of 100 meters log and many attractions, including an Aquopolis park. Children will be involved every day in the competitions of many sports and games, even a mini golf. The area is also a good starting point for excursions in the surroundings: from Nessebar, a UNESCO heritage town, to  the Aldajala monastery.

Zante, the Zakynthos family

The island is a mixture of fabulous sandy beaches inserted between stretches of rocky coast of extraordinary beauty. There are several beaches to visit, but the one considered the most beautiful of all, is the one with the remains of the shipwreck.


Then, among the things to visit by the family is the post-Byzantine museum located in Solomos square, the same square as the public library with 55,000 books in it, so they can stay in the educational environment with their children, making them appreciate the importance of reading. For a little fun, you can go to the exhibition center of the Marine National Park, where through a communication path you can discover the life of sea turtles.

For those who want slides and pools do not miss the Tsilivi water park, an aquatic world that is inevitably appreciated by families.


Tenerife, Spain

In Tenerife there are beaches, the most protected sand bays and suitable for families with children, the fun is guaranteed by the presence of amusement parks, to play on the slides or to meet many different animals!

Among the beaches preferred by families is Las Teresitas where children can play while Mom and Dad are calm, since the bay is in fact protected from the sea and the waves of ocean currents. Then there is Los Cristianos beach, which is a beach that offers the opportunity to take a boat and go for a little sailing in the open sea, some boats also have a crystal bottom, pure magic for the children to see the fish and the bottom live the sea.
